This Ecuadorian Terrazas del Pisque coffee has an unique history: the producer Arnaud Causse, the producer, has created from scratch a special microclima environment suitable for coffee plantation in a desertic and arid area.
This exceptional coffee is the result of Arnaud Causse’s incredibile passion and hard work; it has paid off as we believe it’s outstanding!
Terrazas del Pisque is a Red Bourbon coffee, anaerobic fermentation, very pleasent in the cup with a gentle aroma of white flowers with a citrucy hint and a sweet aftertaste of vanilla.
We are very thrilled to have this coffee in our selection and we believe that once you’ve tried it, you’ll love it!
ABOUT THE PRODUCER:
Arnaud Causse, french-born agronomist, decided to dedicate his life to coffee. After the enormous effort he made to build and grow his first farm named Las Tolas, Arnaud Causse decided to plant a forest right in what once was a desert area: Terrazas del Pisque. In 2012 he bought this plot (historically dedicated to cow breeding) and he turned it into a flourishing and rich forest where coffee plants grow in the shadow of 25 plant species such as agave, acacia, papaya, grapefruit, mandarin and so on.
Terrazas del Pisque is located from 1700 to 2100 mt above sea level and the closest river (Pisque) is 8 km away from the farm: growing coffee in this enviroment is very difficult and just 15 hectars out of 40 are dedicated to coffee plantation at the moment. In this area plants and animals coexist creating an extroardinary micro-ecosystem, of course no pesticides are used and this farm is 100% sustainable.
