Description
The highlands of Java Island have a 300-year history of coffee production. Their variety of Typica is nearly a century old. Processing good naturals is rare in Indonesia and the profile of this cup is really exciting: Notes of passionfruit, cinnamon and cane sugar are immediately apparent.
With cooling, flavours of sweet plum and raisin start to come through. A subtle acidity balances out this coffee that has a velvety mouthfeel and a lemon curd finish.
Over the past years, we have been keeping a close watch on quality developments in Indonesia. Radiophare was a stand-out on our cupping table and our roast team quickly nodded towards this particular cup of coffee. Klasik Beans Collective prioritize the environment in all steps of their farming. All of their coffee is exclusively shade grown under the canopy of a healthy tree polyculture. The producer transformed natural processing, locally called „dry process“, into an artisanal craft. For our microlot, Klasik Beans are using only their best and most ripe coffee cherries. This coffee is particularly sustainable due to the fact that there is no usage of water in the processing.
